I felt it on my 14th floor office (NYC Upper West Side). Having lived many decades in California, I was arguing with myself (This feels just like an earthquake, small or distant, but it is unusual to have an earthquake here. Maybe it's from construction on the subway next to our building. No, this rumbling is an earthquake!) I looked down from my window for King Kong lumbering along 100th Street, but he was nowhere in sight.

I was so busy editing a piece I love that I didn't feel the earthquake. Is this because I was in a special zone like trance or because Im on the 9th floor of my apartment building in NYC? who knows

I think it has to be that the path of the vibration ripples. Didn't feel a thing either, yet my family members in Maine, did.

Esther, I was in the Subway and I didn't even notice it. And getting my hair done during the after shock.

An earthquake in the Catskills! I grew up in Hyde Park, New York. I never heard of any earthquakes happening in New York. Of course, I was a child.

I have been in a couple of earthquakes in the Bay Area, California and a couple in Washington, the state. One in Woodinville (home to the annual Basset Hound parade on April 1st, no joke), and one in Kirkland. I do remember this one, we were watching Seinfeld, though I do not remember the episode, just running to a doorway. Both on the Eastside of Seattle. Rather disconcerting.

I currently live in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

Our house rumbled on its perch above the Lehigh River. It's made of bricks and seems ok.

Earthquakes, Eclipses, the Environment, oh my! I was mid-workout and didn't feel a thing. Yet my neighbors felt 30 seconds of swaying. You'll have to tell us what it was like.

I was sitting at my kitchen table reading about migrant women being raped in the Darien Jungle in my country of Panama, ashamed and angry, when the kitchen cabinets started to shake and rattle for what felt like a full minute.
