It is a remarkable film, yes about shades of truth but also love and about how little room for error there is to navigate a life of poverty, how unforgiving the bureaucracy is for those who stumble. We watched it the night before you and it was also certainly an extended trip to another land outside our living room. So glad you gave it a shout out.

I also loved this film for all the reasons you and Phil have mentioned here. And last night we saw Mujeres Paralelas of Almodovar. His wonderful outrageous stories with layers of meanings--and he's not afraid to tell a story cohesively and to be obvious in his conclusions. A master. And I didn't think I was going to like it based on the talky coming attractions short with

(the Motherland) Spain's Spanish cadences that sometimes annoy me.
