long time acquaintance
I like her and don’t know her well
she recently said this sentence:
Would you mind
if I told you the truth
about your poems?
I couldn’t wait
to hear what she said which was this:
You’re a non-linear thinker
she declared. That means
I have no idea what you
are talking about most of the time.
Thanks for letting me know
I replied.
People need to tell us the darnedest things.
You are a brave woman, open to comments. Non-linear? Who said poems have to go in a straight line?
There is a book titled…”What you Think of Me is None of my Business”. As a poet you generously open the door to hear what others think. May your heart continue to be generous, even when in pain.
