Your porch is an ecosystem, it is an amazing place, but amazing because of all of the different lives you can live, meet, listen to, and love in one beautiful spot.
Your idyllic porch sounds very much like our back deck.... the peacefulness of the nearby ponds, the songbirds and red tailed hawks, and the bits of sun filtering through the towering oaks, maples and shagbark hickory. Tranquil enjoyment of this time called retirement.
porches with rocking chairs are magical, like dorothy being whisked away to OZ (w/o the creepy elements, naturally.) i am envious. my grandmother had a porch and green wooden rocking chairs. i could have sat there all day, watching the world go by. enjoy the last few rockings; and you can go back, yes,? if you feel like it, even if summer is “over”?
My mornings are feed, brush, clean for and love Leo (our cat). Coffee, my therapies (currently James Hillman and his former wife Patricia Berry on video. The music of the day - all through an older iPhone and AirPods (btw a lot of people don’t know that air pods and a phone are now a hearing aid which works for people who think themselves deaf). And now after 2 hours, I’m ready for whatever comes.

PS: I really like the arist's voice reading a poem. It adds so much.
Maybe my favorite of your poems this summer. It would be nice to reread them all, in a hammock, on the porch.
I love this. It’s about place and feeling. And I’m there with you. Lovely to the bone.
That sounds like paradise. Blessed.
I want a porch! I don’t even have a stoop here. This place has other great features.
