I like writing prompts. They send my thoughts in new directions.
i like writing prompts. many years ago when i was just starting to write more seriously, i went to a class in a nearby town (i was living in MA at the time). the leader gave the word "green." i wrote about parsley & the neighbors next door when i lived in the east village (we shared a tenement bathroom) who invited me & my husband to dinner. they made a salad consisting only of parsley. a green salad in the minimalist sense. i was fascinated by this anomaly & fascinated that even though they were two women in love, they had extremely loud & raucous arguments which we could hear through the bathroom. the people in the writing gathering in MA just stared at me in total silence after it was my turn to read. but i still like writing prompts. thank you, Esther, for this one.
