I always feel like a jew. sometimes like such a jew. as a child my mom frequently lunched @ schraffts on 57st. that's when I felt like "such a jew." she ordered chicken croquettes with white gravy. she loved it. when she was a young girl, she had that dish at her best friend gloria's house.she said "that gloria ran away from her family and was never found." I think she frequented schraffts because she thought she might run into gloria. a Japanese business acquaintance asked me if "fiddler" was my favorite movie. I replied, "no, my favorite movie is "the nun's story".I told her sometimes as a youngster, I would dress like a nun and make believe I was god's bride. I used my mother's fake pearl necklace to pray the rosary, splain that one.
