On Thursday I went into a panic because I thought I lost my mobile phone, with all my contacts, photos, messages, etc. I remembered where I last used it on the way home, but it wasn't in it's normal place when I was about to go outside again. I called it from my cordless landline, and all I got was total silence. Panic set in, I went out to meet someone who had been calling me and didn't know why I didn't answer. She showed me that when she called my mobile phone, it rang. I went back home, and there it was in the living room, ringing away. Apparently cellphones (at least this one) don't respond to cordless phones, but they do to another cellphone. And to think that we once functioned without laptops and cellphones!

It's what's on it that really matters. Glad you found it.
And one word for Substack on poems: Heathens.

A frightening experience. Good reminder of how we depend on them. Glad you found them. Now, about those shoes….
