We call people to ask if they’re ok read the paper then Haaretz and Al Jazeera listen to experts and imagine so many frightened children so many mothers up all night and then the sounds of war problem of Netanyahu problem of people living in Gaza we who are as secular as possible
How creepy and awkward it feels to tag a poem about war with a HEART. Plus we need a new, more exact word for secular "praying" that defines focusing healthy wishes for those in danger and suffering, but is stronger than "hope," more active than "thoughts," less religiously mumbo-jumbo, than "pray."
Looked for you on various benches by the green and flea markets---- alas, no sighting
Beautifully stated.
thanks whitney
What a gorgeous poem, Esther. The situation is so horrific that there is no sane response.
I turn to poets.
