Many people wrote asking to see my new glasses. I don’t like posting pictures of myself but Khanyisile Ndaba took this picture last night for you to see them. They don’t look especially life changing in the photo but maybe they are. I texted Dre that I am happy,
great frames! you look lovely. and intelligent. and writerly. i have frames all over the house because i buy them in thrift shops and then take them to the eye guy. maybe i should just buy one decent pair... (but the thrift shop hunt of course is so fun..) anyway: congratulations!

The reason that many of us didn’t say anything about your new frames may be because you always look great. Perhaps some felt that pointing out how well these frames suit you would be disparaging the other glasses you wear. I hope you enjoy every holiday you chose to celebrate . The more the merrier!
Congratulations on your life changing glasses and also for the spectacular robe you are wearing. I also like the portrait but I took the liberty of cropping and removing the background art. I hope Khanyisile doesn't mind. I will send it to you.

I have a million thrift store frames too. I bring them to Chinatown. I'm not sure why I bought an expensive pair. But I did (!!!!)
They will not replace my thrift store desires.
