What a Poem Can Do, Maybe
Yesterday first time in Way Too Long I went to the New York Society Library 53 West 79 one of my all time favorite places on this earth. Happy just to walk in. Books, places to read them. Desks in corners throughout the open stacks. I wrote an introductory poem to my NEW BOOK OF POEMS read part of a random book about Benjamin Disraeli, took home Eileen Myles new anthology (Eileen Myles!) and wondered why I don't go there every single day. What we do why we do it a subject for book after book. Not mine. Maybe I'll just try a poem.
