We Sat in the Park (COVID)
Last night one of those
Can You Believe How Beautiful This Day is
days we sat in the park holding drinks in plastic cups
Scotch and a Marguerita watching a couple nearby
handsome older African American
man with a saxophone Japanese woman she looked like his wife
maybe she's a painter he played her music
small boy Spanish speaking his mother
tired from his running he kept running throwing sticks
chasing them good looking young woman her dog looked
like her relative there we all were on benches in a row in back
of the Museum of Natural History early evening in June
light still yellow when New York even now
is still New York and normal is just a word
