After having my prosthodontic tongue exam
(my tongue was ok there)
and then, a few hours later,
Chinese medical tongue exam
(ok too - she even used the word
better. Maybe my tongue was not so good before)
I met Laurie an old friend
a chiropractor she knows her body parts
and she said she was having a frenectomy
a new tongue word. A frenum
is the connective tissue under the tongue
and she will have her frenum snipped
for various reasons one being
a freer tongue. The tongue, said Laurie,
relates to many problems such as
sleep apnea, speech, head movement, etc.
I told her that I’ve been talking about my tongue
maybe for the first time ever
all week, and next time the tongue comes up
I will throw in the word frenectomy
although I don’t anticipate having one myself.
That does it. Tongue sandwiches for lunch. Orwasher's rye, deli mustard. Diet Dr. Brown's cream soda.
Interesting thoughts...and a new vocabulary word.
