This morning I emailed
someone named Ira
highly recommended
on Nextdoor to ask if he
would wash our windows.
He wrote me back: tell me
about your windows.
No one’s asked me that before
so I thought I’d write my first
ever window poem for him.
Two of our windows face
the conical turret of the Museum
of Natural History where
Margaret Mead once sat.
We have two good bedroom
windows. north facing too,
that have a reasonable amount
of light. They are dressed
with silk Cambodian curtains
in an usual shade of light brown.
The kitchen and bathroom windows
face the alley of the building next door.
They have no view, and a small
amount of light.
The back bedroom window
has a curtain I’ve never liked
too much. But I haven’t changed
it either. The window itself
has no view.
Do we qualify for cleaning?
Indeed, what was Ira’s response?
Anxious to hear Ira’s response❣️
