We argue
with one another
read and watch
and listen and
whatever we do,
there’s still war
and it’s impossible and we
figure out ways
to survive.
(I watched Golden Bachelor
at midnight last night
such a crazy sexist show
could have been 1955
but still, I watched and thought
that Gary, the Golden Bachelor,
could have been worse.)
I should have watched the Golden Bachelor. We watched Anderson Cooper's blow by blow account of the massacre at the music festival. I'm torn apart. Hamas brought this war to them. It was a certainty. Probably part of the plan. Maybe even a trap. On the other hand I cannot stand to see what appears to be bombing of all of Gaza. I proposed an idea which has so far been scoffed at. Hamas returns the hostages in exchange for a humanitarian cease fire on both sides.
Bizarre and tragic seem to be the words which characterize our world. My heart aches for the Israeli people who suffered such unspeakable savagery. My heart aches also for the hundreds, thousands, perhaps millions of poor, innocent Palestinian held hostage in this maelstrom by terrorists. Sixty five years ago, my Aunt Jane served in Gaza with UN … Will there NEVER be Peace ??
