I am reading poems for Alimentum magazine a while since I’ve opened poems from strangers 56 envelopes each one a kind of poem. Alimentum’s about the literature of food. I want to save the cover letters. Here’s today’s poem about cheesecake.
“In regard to this cheesecake, it’s the only dessert I have learned to make. My mom got this recipe from a Jewish lady she cleaned for when I was in high school thirty years ago. It’s an utterly simple recipe. You can eat a huge slice without feeling like You have a lump In your gut. I make It still.”
