PLOT SUMMARY:
Using the writing prompt of Steve Stephen Stefan I have gathered
many Steve stories so far. 32. So in the Penn South writing class
I repeated what Peter’d suggested: If the prompt were Shlomo?
there’d be no stories. Not true, said Helen, Greek poet in class.
When we lived in Queens we had Shlomo the Shoveler shovel
our walk in winter. Teenage Hasid across the street.
Epilogue
Later I told Laura that story. It can’t be true, said Laura.
No such thing as a Hasidic shoveler.
Shlomo might only work for a smaller audience. I'm still thinking about the different Steve's in my past.
