Today is Cornwallville Day and we got the Yard Sale
map and drove around to see. Hard for me even in this pandemic
even though there is some rain to miss a yard sale
much less Yard Sale Day. Black Lives Matter
and Confederate Flags are part of this small place and so
are Big Differences in what we believe.
We bought an expensive bar of beautiful serious soap
decorated with a dried blood orange
where the maker, a self described Soap Expert,
good looking young woman
her table in front of her organic garden
she stood with her son not allowed any social media she convincingly
explained her soap (good for you et al) and a road away in Susan’s yard
Susan was once our best postmistress (she and her plumber
husband are ballroom dancers) we bought soap again, whimsical shapes,
inexpensive goats milk from Susan’s friends goat, made by children
who both had laptops and when I said the soap was for my six year old
granddaughter, they sent a present for her too.
love your poems.
Today is also Play Music on the Porch Day. Soap before eating or handling food.
