Two 19 year old Mexican girls,
Silvana Garza and María Paula Zárate,
reacted to a sudden storm that caused a river to flood
and endangered dozens of children
in their care at Camp Mystic,
a summer camp on the Guadeloupe River.
The incident occurred early Friday morning, July 4,
at a summer camp in Kerr County, Texas,
where the young women were working as counselors.
The sudden storm caused nearby rivers to flood.
leaving the girls trapped in grave danger.

saved 20 children.
