SHOES
When something traumatic happens, in the world or in my life, I often buy shoes. So did my mother.
Yesterday when I was trying not to think about what it means that so many people like Donald Trump enough so that he is actually the Republican nominee when I was trying not to think about where all those refugees are going what their life is like and why we don't have a refugee family in our apartment yesterday when someone on NPR said this was global warming and told us not to breathe really yesterday when I couldn't think of what to do I went to Harry's Shoes even though I usually go to Tip Top Harry's is a lot bigger and I spent a good half hour looking at summer options including a bright red pair with a thick ankle strap and even though I didn't buy any shoes not yesterday all those shoes I didn't buy were able to shift the dial just a little.
