Sheedy from Botswana
came over this morning to pick up his daughter
Ahava and Sonia had a sleepover
last night and this morning Sonia who is seven
asked me to tell her my function in this house.
She’s The Grandmother Ahava said.
Sheedy her father came to get her and he told us
about his voyage to America.
I worked for a year
as a cook in Jewish school in Riverdale he said.
The kids were wonderful and so were the teachers.
Are you Jewish now I asked.
No said Sheedy. But I do have
an 11 o’clock therapy appointment.
