We went to an art show
in Sarasota with pieces
for sale made by the residents
of Pelican Cove. One was
a drawing of two women
sitting on a bench with a big
bubble above them containing
all their doctor’s appointments
for the year. And there were many.
Another piece was a contorted face
mouthing the word Oy.
Bright yellow rubber ducks
in a row on a plank was available
as a print for $25. Charming
and unexpected, we thought Ahava
might like it for her wall. I asked
the woman in charge to order
a copy for me. A good friend
who volunteered at the show
said the duck piece was made by
a psychiatrist she knew. She would
leave him my check for twenty five
dollars in his mailbox. I gave her
a check and we flew back home. A
few days ago the psychiatrist called
me. I heard you wanted the ducks
he said. But I never got your
twenty five dollars. I told him
I’d given my check to a friend.
He was suspicious. I didn’t get it he said.
You will I replied. I could tell
he didn’t believe me. I called my friend.
I’ll put it in his mailbox she said.
Early this morning the psychiatrist
called. Well he began. I did get your
check. But I’m not sure the address
on the check is actually yours.
Very funny. Analyze this!
He sounds like he doesn’t have all his ducks in a row!🤣
