Article voiceover
I have been talking
with writers about their
books and their book
publicists. What they
want to happen (many
people say Terry Gross
and that probably
won’t happen.)
I’ve talked to
some publicists too.
What will you do
and what will it cost.
Not an especially
interesting subject
so far, but then I’m not
a how to reader. I’m
more interested in the
person doing the thing:
why did she become
a publicist and what
does she like about the job
and what shows are
her favorites? are they
the same as mine and does
she have a sense of humor
and what about her love life?
Publicists, on the other hand,
want to talk about monthly
fees, and even worse,
Reasonable Expectations.
ugh. a crap shoot. but ... what are your options? do it yourself.... double ugh. love you esther, follow your gut!
I'm old now, but I used to write quite a bit ... and, (probably because I live outside of the USA), I never thought of publishing.
Now that I'm cleaning house, I found a whole bag of my writings ... which go back some 30 years.
I'm glad to get your poetry and I hope you'll have many years to send your writings out .. with or without publicists. BEST WISHES, deet lewis Antigua Guatemala
