(Once I wrote a book proposal called Body Parts. You might as well just call it Old Jew a publishing friend said.)
Peter needs a new hip because
one of the hips he has is worn out
from being a hip and has to be replaced,
like our dust buster for instance
which wears out frequently.
He went to a sports medicine doctor
who said to try physical therapy
before getting a new hip but
the physical therapy didn’t seem to do
anything and walking hurts.
We live in a city where walking and talking
are two main activities and he
still talks all the time but walking is more
a problem so today we will visit
the first of two surgeons (maybe we’ll go
to three) and ask some good hip questions
(what would a good hip question be?)
Question to ask: Will I be more hip with a new hip?
Ask what the physical therapy regimen is. Will there be in home PT immediately following surgery and how long does PT continue? PT makes a huge difference in successful new hip improvements. PT is most important. New hip eliminates pain, IF PT is done every day! From a grateful new hip owner!
