The new episode of
BAD PUBLICITY
my new Kindle Vella story
(you can read it here
https://kdp.amazon.com/kindle-vella?ref_=us_acq_o_ons_boo_new_unt_321_1)
is about pen names.
This morning I remembered
that Mr. Shatz PR director
of Grossingers where I
interviewed celebrities
like Jayne Mansfield
for the Peck Observer
(grammar school paper)
Mr. Schatz told me that
going forward
I shouldn’t use Esther Cohen
it didn’t have the Right Ring
he suggested the name
Julie Tottan and I wrote
it down just in case
but when I wrote
my Jayne Mansfield
interview,
I kept Esther Cohen.
Esther Cohen is classic and evocative and easy to quickly attach attributes to( like funny, wry, mischievous, curious, prolific). There's something to hold onto in that name. What could be better for a writer?
People sure do have stupid ideas sometimes. On the other hand, imagine if John Wayne had stayed Marion Robert Morrison?
