Other People's Words
Other people's poems,
beauty of words tied together
by intelligence and feeling or a story
I remember the first time so many years ago
a very little girl, walked into
the Ansonia Public Library with my mother
she went every single Tuesday thought about how
all books each one of them was written
by a person I didn't know. I asked the librarian
Julia C. Steele, an efficient woman
she had so many index cards how that happened
and she looked up she was always looking down
wanted to give me the right answer
no wrong answers for Julia C. Steele
you'll understand one day she said
but I didn't believe her.
