This Poem Is For Everyone

every Friday,
Friday being
more official
than Saturday but I
like Saturday better
For No Good Reason
I have always liked Saturday
better than Friday
not only for poems.
On Saturday I don’t feel
Like I Should Be Doing Something
Resembling Work.
On Saturday
I can listen to David Crosby
as much as I want
Binge Watch The Split
read a Booker Prize book
or any other book
go to Housing Works
to consider other people’s things
no category off the table
big pile of Bonobos men’s pants
all $10 instead of $99
some are pink some are orange
I looked at them all
though I don’t know any men
who wear Bonobos pants
and I don’t either
Saturday is free day
at the JCC and I could
go to the mezzanine
restorative yoga class
at 2 PM
or just write a poem
for you.
And here’s a classic:
Scorcese’s Mother Making Sauce
If you can support my work, please do. And to those people who wrote saying Why Should I Pay For Poems, you don’t have to. You’ll still get a free poem once a week. Love to everyone. Esther
The video of Martin Scorsese's mother cooking made my day. I also watched the next video of Jim Jarmusch interviewing Scorsese about his mother's role in Goodfellas. Priceless. Happy Saturday to you!
My mother refused to have plastic slipcovers. She was the neighborhood rebel.
