PREFACE
What is the microbiome?
The human microbiome (not to be confused
with just plain microbiome)
is the aggregate of all microbiota that reside on or within
human tissues and biofluids
along with the corresponding anatomical sites in which they reside,
including the skin, mammary glands, seminal fluid, uterus, ovarian follicles, lung,
saliva, oral mucosa, conjunctiva, biliary tract, and gastrointestinal tract.
MICROBIOME POEM
I’ve been reading about my
microbiome (infrequently: not my usual
subject matter ever since I came back
from India a few years ago
with this and that. This morning
I read a longish article by Microbiome Expert
Ara Katz explaining
we have to know (!) and when I googled
to learn more about her I found out she said
her favorite human microbiome food
is artichokes and garlic.
( mine too)
Yum
Does it taste that good HELEN
