Mango the Dog

is visiting us

The kids went to Badass Animal Rescue

their actual name an animal rescue place

in Brooklyn where they found

a Caribbean street dog once named

both Henry and Lovango

funny the information we know.

They called him Mango, brought him home.

He has some problems a little anxious

and sweet. Red Stripe dog

he walks with me slowly,

sniffing every single thing and because

he is here, something subtle,

something good is a little better.

(I tell Peter I would like a dog

and he says you want everything

and I say not everything and he says

OK you don’t want a big TV or a BMW

but that’s about it.)
