Jackie Mason
Some friends have been telling me for years
that he isn’t funny. And he’s politically incorrect.
I’ve loved him forever. One of my favorite stories:
years ago at ADAMA books we took turns picking
a cultural activity for everyone to go to. One Wednesday
I brought the whole staff to see him on Broadway.
Albert, a flamenco dancer from Guyana who worked with us
yelled across the aisle when the show ended:
“I didn’t know Jews were so funny.” The whole audience howled.

I love him and hated a lot of what he came to be later. … He may have been the best comedian of ethnic politics.
Never liked him. Never thought he was funny. Never say never.
