IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS (AND I'M A JEW)
I have wildly opposite thoughts myself on religion. And, the language of religion too. I have never liked the ONLY US part funny tribal EVERYONE HERE IS JEWISH or BLACk or ANYTHING AT ALL piece. Although I'm not a Kumbaya type either. This weekend was ARMENIAN CHRISTMAS in Newburgh New York, and then, AHAVA's Godparent naming ceremony at First Corinthian Baptist Church. And through all of it, of course, I'm a Jew.
What does it mean that I'm a Jew one of those Big Questions many Other People have answered before me. We tend to believe that we ourselves we who meditate turn to our breath we who like or dislike the word Personal have personal answers for questions. We go on quests inventing and reinventing every universe as if where we come from matters less than who we are. What does it mean that we imagine others are different that there is a word no matter how good that word might be that there is a word even two to say who we are.
