Maybe more urban and we
haven’t seen any hipsters.
Especially not at our hotel where two sisters
from the Poconos they look alike
in their late sixties starting
a new cleaning business
both reading the same new hardback
book by Danielle Steele: SUSPECTS.
At Bay Avenue Bakery where we went
for breakfast surly woman
behind the counter said do you know
what a bagel is or not?
Breakfast was good delicious
yogurt very good fruit
we did not have a bagel.
Then we stopped at
Driftwood Liquor and Bar
to buy Fran a bottle of Rose.
10:30 am I sat at the bar to listen
to the conversation between a man
who teaches philosophy at a community
college and a professional fireman
arguing what philosophy actually is
bought the rose. Drag Bingo
postponed last night at Seafarer’s Bar
but the bar was as beautiful as it was
the night before and this time the people
who own the BBQ truck at the bar
showed up and we just stayed right there.
"Do you know what a bagel is or not?" Is pricelessly surly. Essential knowledge too.
