Driving home from Anywhere
I like to stop at supermarkets.
I’ve always loved them
indiscriminately.
People, food,
the perfect
combination.
On our way
home from Frenchtown
we passed
Stop and Shop, Aldi’s,
decided on Wegman’s.
This Wegman’s,
the largest supermarket
I’ve ever seen,
a city state, more
people inside than in
the town where we live
in upstate New York,
more food possibilities,
cooked and uncooked,
more prompts for poems.
PS: Soon there will be
a Wegman’s nearby.
(but not that size)
I Love Wegmans. In a place where anything Chanukah is hard to find, Wegmans has challah all year and they will slice it for you ( I need portion control). They also have Green's rugelach and babka, which I think is the same as Zabar's store brand. The Passover section has been shrinking, but at least it's there.
Wegmans East Village. What's the big deal?!
