For 32 Years I Have Written This Place (County Route 20)
That's what sometimes happens with love.
You try to explain but words, although so many of them
are wonderful, words, they can be elegant and orange, electric
or deep deep green even wild words, no matter how many
you might know, words cannot do justice to what feels like
a dream full of people like Paul he comes to mow
and he talks because there is time and there are trees
and the trees, every single year, are far more beautiful
than what you could ever remember and there are lilacs
and blossoms without the names they deserve and Paul
tells a story about his mother in law Linda and what she did
before he arrived and he says he'll come back tomorrow even
though the lawn is mowed for no good reason he will return
just like these trees and this road and this ever present love.
