We look for signs every one of us
today the sky is not just blue
and though I am not a nature writer like my friend Ruth
I wish I knew how to say
what I am seeing instead of what people
say to each other people have always been
my redwood trees today
a different kind of day the first
day of the Jewish New Year which isn’t just
a new chance for Jews
some of us believe that now is a chance
for every one of us and if we are
omen oriented even knowing what we know
about this impossible world floods and Texas
just two examples we know this too that we all
woke up every single one of us reading this poem
to a day like this.
My nephew and his two-year-old son made Challah for this first day, and the Ranger Rick subscription I sent has arrived to their delight. Happy New Year, New Blessings, New Hopes...
lovely! thank you!
