Dentist Poems
On the big list of what I'm going to do one day (maybe) is the plan to write a book of Dentist Poems. I've only written a few so far.
My father's friend Milton Turkoff
was our first dentist.
My father said Milton
had hands like Crowbars.
I have been
to many dentists.
Teeth are not just teeth.
And then there are gums.
Today I will again go
to the dentist. Kind
and interesting woman
who will take good care.
And then, whatever happens
with the various teeth
in question, whatever else happens
I will resume the rest,
for the most part forgetting
about teeth.
