Dear Esther Cohen,
You asked readers here
to review ALL OF US on Amazon
and Goodreads because
of algorithms (what does
that mean exactly) and although
I did read your book I have
no idea what to say in a review.
Can you help? Yours, C.
Dear C.
I don’t know what algorithms
mean either. I do know
that everyone says
ask readers for reviews.
How’s this as a template:
ALL OF US: I liked it.
That’s probably good enough.
Yours, E.
Dear E.
I don’t think
I liked it
is good enough.
Please add a little more
information.
Yours, C.
Dear C.
How’s this:
I liked it because
it’s funny
and sometimes unexpected.
E.
Dear E.
Maybe. I am not sure
that works.
C.
Dear C.
Don’t write the review
if it’s too hard.
E.
Dear E.
Maybe I won’t.
Dear C,
Would you like to buy a vowel?
I know a third grade teacher who still asks readers to write about The Part of the Book I Liked Best. He says he enjoyed it as a kid and his students have fun with it. I liked it too.
