Part two

Hard not to be

nervous and these rooms

where you wait (I wonder why)

rooms done by professional

colonoscopy waiting room

interior designers a little unpleasant

a little unfamiliar.

Favorite sign:

Attention Female Patients!!!!

DO NOT USE the restroom

before checking with our staff.

(Who knows why)

Anesthesiologist says he

collects bakelite bracelets too

I wear many for my Procedure

he says he doesn’t wear them

because he is allergic to bakelite

do you want to sell them I ask

even though I have many many

bakelite bracelets not as many

as Whoopi Goldberg but still

she asked to buy a butterscotch bracelet

of mine once when we were both

in the flea market but it belonged

to my mother I didn’t sell it.

A few hours post-procedure

after our celebratory wine and good lunch

the doctor, a tiny and appealing woman

with a sense of humor (gastroenterologist

with a sense of humor!) calls and says

Good News No Cancer No Polyps

Of course, she adds, there’s this and that.
