The last of my Gastroenterology series.
(I still don’t have reflux)
High point of yesterday’s
colonoscopy apart from the fact
that the procedure itself was a success
wasn’t before due to various
age related factors my new doctor
who calls himself Marty not Doctor Marty
succeeded using Significant Air and then he said
I do not have anything not even one polyp
just usual diverticuli who doesn’t
have them now. Best part happened
after it was over when Amrita
the nurse said who’s picking you up?
My husband I said.
How many years have you been married she asked.
Forty I replied.
My engagement has been a problem
Amrita explained.
He’s from Jamaica. My family
is Indian and very traditional. We’ll
marry at last this August.
Jamaicans are wonderful I said.
He’s even better Amrita replied.
He’s Chinese Jamaican.
And then she walked me to meet Peter
and invited us both to her wedding in August
and we said mazel tov and goodbye.
Truly!
Hilarious and great fodder for my book on marrage after religion.
