This could be wonderful:
Hello!
We are beyond excited to invite you to our Artivism Fellowship final virtual sharing, The Fellowship Hall on Saturday, May 7th!
Over the last four months we have had the honor and joy of supporting the work of eight incredible artists of color across the African, Asian and LatinX diaspora. Our artivism framing deeply aligns with our mission at BAC to build the capacity of individuals through the power of storytelling and artistry as a radical response to systemic racism. The theme of this year’s Artivism Fellowship is Reimagining Justice through Abolition.
Our signature program, the Artivism Fellowship, serves artists who have an activist agenda in their artwork that we are uniquely positioned to serve through our Theater of Change Methodology. Using the #8toAbolition campaign and the decades of work done by Black feminist abolitionists, each Artivism fellow designed a special performance or narrative based piece that had a clear artivism framework, engagement strategy and advocacy framing. At our final sharing, our fellows will present what they have worked on during their time with us and where they are in their projects. You can expect to see a range of disciplinary expressions from video, to poetry, to song, readings, pitch decks, and more!
The fellowship was a deepening of our mission as we committed four months to providing our Artivism fellows with financial support, mentorship, community building, educational workshops and a final presentation of their art and advocacy work. These eight artists of color are incredible writers, poets, movement healers, and actors. It is an honor to have shared space with them and be trusted with their stories.
