I can't resist telling a story from my basic training in 1970. It was a time when there was the first of two mass wave of immigrants to Israel from the Soviet Union (the other 1990). In my tent was a guy from Georgia (the country, not the state), and he told us he was a bug exterminator who lived in the southern town of Ashdod. He used to go around to neighbors to ask them if they suffered from roaches or other pests. When some people told him no, they didn't, at night he would sneak up to their homes and spill roaches into their homes through the windows. The next day he had new customers for his services.
