Many years ago my parents would go
away for the weekend with Fayette and Jack
Galen their best friends and bridge partners.
Some weekends they would play bridge
and often they’d leave
the children behind. Bill Hahns in Westbrook
Connecticut was one of the places they went.
I’ve been curious about the place
for years. We are going there today. Different
owner different name probably a different place. What I
found online was this:
https://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-xpm-2002-08-02-0208021745-story.html
And my friend Doug wrote this today:
my parents used to go to a place in conn. named after the owner host named billy hahns. he was an old queen who collected, sold & lectured about his antiques. my mother said that billy had his own "antique organ.' he serenaded the dinner guests as well. have you ever heard of that place?-
Whatever it’s like now I’ll
tell you very soon.
While you're there try my favorite, Lenny and Joe's Fish Tales. All sorts of seafood including fried clam bellies which I love.
Take me to The Sound any day
