Almost Passover

Passover, always

a liberation celebration,

is when we sing

about hope and when

we who pray and we who don’t

want slavery in all its forms will end.

The plagues, especially

these new plagues,

will stop and this world,

so fraught, and so problematic,

will return to kindness,

to generosity, to justice,

and to love.
