If Ken didn't like it when people asked him he was a trucker, I had an uncle in Brooklyn who was a bus driver and didn't want want anyone to know that. Yet when I came to Israel, being a member of the Egged bus driver collective was considered an elite job. As for going to the wrong house, tell Carla that it's always possible to find yourself on the wrong block, like the guy in this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_WUSNV6ACE
I love this!!!The breadth of what you shared in a spare poetic form. Also the poignancy, how i felt when i finished reading his. This is how we can show up for each other. You perform a daily mitzvah
I'll be thinking of him and Hilda. Thank you for being the kind of person who has a stranger over for lemonade and salted almonds. It was all perfect.
So happy to meet you. And Sandy close called the minute you left!! Good karma
Ha! ⚡️
What a great story and love the way you tell it (esp followed by "Im just Ken".
What a lovely poem, Esther.
I love that Hilda lives on through Ken.
So touching
I love that Hilda is smiling and that she is always welcome to walk over with Ken💜
Love all of this and Carla returns in the comments. And apparently Hilda has a big spirit stretching across your street and now beyond.
